Facebook Purity
Tired of seeing all those application and quiz crap on Facebook? Well then have I got good news for you! (If you are using Firefox that is. Edit: You can also run scripts in Opera)
Typical Facebook crap
- The first thing you need to do is install the Greasemonkey plugin for Firefox
- Now install the Facebook Purity user script for Greasemonkey
That’s it! No more messages about quizes etc, basically all messages from any applications created by external developers. Just leaving messages from the original facebook apps such as status updates, wall posts, links, notes, photos, etc behind!
On a related note. Ever see your name or pics, or your friends names and pics in the adverts? That’s because Facebook agreed to let a 3rd party advertisers use your information (You did read the EULA right?).
To turn it off do the following: Settings > Privacy > News Feed and Wall > Facebook Ads > Appearance in Facebook Ads = No one.
