Online stores with free international shipping

South Africa has its fair share of online shopping sites like Kalahari and Take2, some even providing free delivery if you buy goods over a certain amount.

However, sometimes you would like to buy something from Amazon that you just can’t find local, and it’s usually the shipping that makes the item pricey.

Here is a list of stores that have genuinely free worldwide shipping, and the prices are sometimes equal or lower than Amazon or similar online stores.

Online shopping, I would consider postage issues, because if it is an international freight transportation is very high, so even if the goods cheaper, overall costs are still too high, it might as well choose the country to buy.http://www.toptend.com

it are beautiful clothes but the prize is so high… I´m from mexico and a jacket cost $9000!!! Mxn, it´s impossible!!

Hey, whoever recommended http://cfind.net/ here, i just want to say thank you !

I always wondered why there was no site like this, and then it just came out of no where!
    amazing!

i also found wantitall to be quite expensive, the sites are very similar however id like to think my site is approaching the procurement and sourcing of products at a different angle, as i mentioned above my products are sourced locally, so there are no issues when it comes to warranties. my delivery period runs between 3-5 working days as apposed to long waits for goods from overseas. in fact a delivery time at the moment is averaging 2 working days. As e-Tailers we are not really met halfway by the banks, exorbitant credit card facility fee’s are often more than the profit we make. Another difference would be Shopitup has a social development category, ShopitUp Community which is a platform for a number of projects we believe that would benefit from an online platform to sell locally manufactured products. We still have ways to go in terms of being competitive but time will work in our favor as the sector becomes bigger and bigger.

Hi Gareth! Nice site, how do you guys differentiate from a website like Wantitall? (That I find very expensive at all times).

  • http://www.shopitup.co.za Garreth

Hi Schalk, i own http://www.shopitup.co.za the site is committed to sourcing products through local channels, distributors and manufacturers. i find that most of the local market is heavily controlled hence a swarm of sites bringing grey imports in, this can serve its purpose by showing local importers and distributors that their prices are expensive but it also has a negative effect on the online shopper here at home, long delivery periods, warranty issues, customs issues etc… its really up to the site owners to compete with each other to not only beat prices but to offer a complete package from site to delivery.

A good resource indeed, very tempting to purchase from some of these stores. The free shipping option makes you only need to pay for the price that you see.
There is a hidden fee that needs to be considered though and that is import tax. It can usually be about 20% ontop of the products price.
This often makes the product only slightly cheaper than SA, which means you might aswel support the local guys and pay that “R50″ extra =)

If I can please just ask the buyers to please make sure you have a decent post office. I have ordered over 30-40 orders from them and they all arrived. One arrived 45 days after sending due to a customs hold up. So please don’t claim lost packages left and right or else they will stop shipping to SA the same with shopto.net did.
Typical delivery times are 15 – 25 days.

80% of my packages make it through customs without a problem. The customs that I do pay on a game ends up be about R25-R30 when they stop it.

Hi Fayaaz, thanks for the comment!

Just did a comparison with Take2, is about R514 cheaper using TheHut.com than Take2, that is some great savings.

    Thanks for the site.

    Sorry for previous comment.

The 2 websites in the UK that deliver to SA are:

    http://www.thehut.com
    http://www.zavvi.com

They have really good prices of Bluray movies, PS3 and Xbox games and they deliver for £2.35 per item. They had LoR Bluray trilogy for £18 with delivery you looking at £21 which is way cheaper than SA prices.
